The Hobley Memorial Sofa

Ian Blair

In recent months, the MOLA kitchen has undergone a major transformation, with the old units stripped out and replaced, and new lino laid throughout. Also gone are the knackered table and chairs, now replaced by a breakfast bar and shiny chrome and bright orange bar stools.

I am pleased to report, that one nationally important item of furniture to survive the purge, is the ‘Hobley Memorial Sofa’, which still has pride of place along the ‘feature wall’ of the kitchen.

Former Hobley acolytes who have ‘now left the building’, can rest assured, that it is watched over by more than a dozen former DUA archaeologists (secretly embedded in MOLA) who remain as unpaid Guardians of the Sofa.
